The Walt Disney Company
Web Developer Intern · May 2018 – Aug 2018
Seattle, WA
The summer before my final year at UCF, I interned as a web developer at The Walt Disney Company in Seattle.
The project
I developed a React and Redux web application for internal employees and clients that streamlined data management workflows. The problem was familiar to anyone who's worked at a big company: the information people needed existed, but finding it meant digging through systems that weren't built for lookup. The app I built cut information lookup time by 70%.
What I took away
This internship was my first taste of building software that real people relied on every day — and it's what sold me on frontend engineering as a career. Watching someone's workflow get dramatically faster because of something you built is a feeling that hasn't gotten old since.
